Distant Celebration [A Year Ago]

February 26, 2009

Way to Shatin 10K Buddhas

Above picture is one from my gigabits of not too so long ago pics taken on my stay in Hong Kong.  I just like to share how I spent a very special occasion thousand miles away from my other half.  That day was a holiday (Chinese New Year) and just to kill time and loneliness,  I decided to join some pinoyexpats to walk around the island.  More from this set on my multiply.

Majmaj Month Month + Temple’s First Bday

February 14, 2009

CantonMami Chie prepared pancit canton lutong bahay as Boo2x turned one month old (10JAN2009).  That was what we have for lunch, quick but bloated our stomach anyway.  Afterwhich, we’re ready to go to Two Serendra @ Bonifacio Global City to attend Temple Jeanina’s 1st Birthday party.  Kinda hesitant to bring Maj along as her vaccines not yet complete and we still don’t have a yaya to assist that time. *** Warning to dads & moms (per Dra. Rochelle), safety first as much as possible leave your babies @ home.  According to her, one of her co-doctor after bringing her baby out, hit with fever. worsen to pneumonia and then died. *** To continue, we arrived so late and the party’s almost over.  Good thing is there’s food left for us to eat. :-)

Sam took this photo

Happy 1st Birthday TJ! Grabe engrande!  Laki siguro nagastos nila marekoy…HARHAR. We have coffee afterwards but stayed not too long as mosquitoes literally invaded the area. aWwwW!

Too salvaged [sorry]

On Maj’s second month, 2-month-old Baby MajI had to take a leave for her gastro-intestinal pedia checkup.  As advised, continue with Nutramigen thingy (up to her one year).  Take note, it’s only extensively hydrolized and colic may still attack from time to time.  Which is true, still we don’t know what time of the day it will make Boo2x cry too loud, making her difficult to find her comfy position to sleep (dark eye bugs on us).  Thinking to have a second opinion but the best we can do now is to pray to shower Dambby with lotsa breast milk.  Thank you Ms. Ada for the tips, I know Che’s trying the best she could…

P.S.  Uyyy Happy Heart’s Day pala! :-D

Say Forever

February 8, 2009

Last year, I had no choice but to gaze the fabulous fireworks of the Chinese New Year festivity in Hongkong.  Nothing fancy but I just ordered online for a bouquet of flowers from Island Rose to have something for our first Church wedding anniversary…:-(

That year was over and I won’t let it happen for the second time!  And yes Huggies & Kisses spent their weekend (7th & 8th of Feb) to celebrate our 12th and 2nd year anniversary @ the Hyatt Hotel, M.H. del Pilar Manila.  Nothing’s gonna stop us even the world’s financial crisis.  Many thanks to Cristal Gan and to her friend as well [malaki laki ang aming nakuripot HARHAR].

Truly this is one of the best time we had together…to cherish forever. :-)

My father-in-law’s advice in my head: Find time to go out with my Dambby more frequently so as not to have regrets when death arrives.  That’s a BIG point to memorize!

P.S.  “Kahit namru-mrublema basta’t kami’y magkasama” .  I wish that Baby Maj will be ok soon.  Sleepless nights because of cow’s milk allergy [seems that there are a lot of cases like this nowadays].  Special infant formula costs PHP1000 consumable for 3 days.  What the??? Now she has cold because of the changing weather.  But then again I pray to the Lord…

P.S.  Promise to upload more pics in my multiply

P.S.  I love you Dambby! Tsup3x :-)

Post Bongga Christmas Reunion

January 25, 2009

Regardless of the short notice, almost a complete attendace of the Bongga barkada @ Redbox, Trinoma and most of all it was another precious moment made possible thru the effort of Rye (thanks thanks!, you’re truly Ravishing to treat us all, sa uulitin ulit HAHAHA).  And take note this was Baby Boo2x’s first gimik with the barkada! :-)   Getting bigger & bigger bongga family!  More power. More babies!

P.S.  It’s been a very busy tiring week(wherever: office, road [bat ba napakatraffic na naman POTAHHH!], home…).  To the avid viewers of this blog, I apologize HAHAHA…(stay tuned for more overdue posts!)  As for now the brightest idea is to join my two chickas in their good slumber (I’m awake from 1AM for my Boo2x sitting shift). Goodnyt, good morning! ;-)

T.G.I.F.s

January 16, 2009

Thank God It’s Friday. I’m out of the office (since Wednesday) once again bcoz Dambby’s a year older today.  We just enjoyed a not too sumptuous foodams @ Friday’s Rob Place Manila (originally my plan is to take them @ a resto in Boni High [maiba naman paminsan]).  I’m so apologetic (my really bad).  Hope the mocha mud pie (yum yum) really punctuated the lunch date with a smile. :-)

So frustrating (especially during this time of the year : Dec to Mar are the months when I needed money to the max level) , the budget for something extra-special was unexpectedly depleted by no other than LeonaH (I give our bloody red civic hatchback her official name today.  Leona - named after the artist and with an H for hatchback).  Costly maintenance almost killed my ass. First rear bearings were replaced. Then the left rear lowering spring busted [naputol pa sa gitna], last Wednesday I had the new set of springs installed and also during this time the disc break pads also juiced, hence should be replaced and the discs machine-rejuvenated…If we can only dictate “No, pls. not this time”… But then again permit me to shout: Thank God I’m Fortunate and right now I’m still alive!  ‘Cause on my way home,  the break pedal got loose! (Break master gave up wahhhhh)  Lucky me I’m still at the slow-moving street of Banawe and I easily managed to stop on the side…

What else? [Radiator drain rubber washer pa]  Keep bleeding love. ;-)   Happy Birthday Dambbs! (wish makabawi ako) Tsup3x Tsupahhh :-D

P.S.  Thank you Mommy for preparing the all-time favorite Filipino-style spaghetti (dinner). Da bes! Thanks thanks!

P.S. for Christmas

January 5, 2009

Peso Savings for Christmas.  Throughout the year, I’m dropping 5-peso and/or  10-peso coins in our Garfield piggy bank telephone.  From this savings, I have something to give to my godchildren (kaunti lang sila) and bonuses to some people who rendered assistance in some chores (alalay na lang for short).   Amount collected this time was smaller: PHP1,800 compared to 2K++ of the past years.  But well actually this is BIGGER considering this was accumulated for only 6 months since the other half of 2008 I was in Hongkong.  Christmas eve, Che helped me wrapping these coins.  Almost 3 hours in the morning (Christmas Day), what I did was I took snaps similar to the one posted on the left.  And I really had fun, kahit olats ang dating (I want a genuine Canon lens! crap).  Yes isip-bata!  I envy Sam!  She had earned about 4K++ without going out there and begging for aguinaldo.  Special delivery, door-to-door!  Samantalang ako, sinusuyod ko lahat ng kamag-anak at mga ninong at ninang kahit mag-amoy araw, ala pang limang libo ang kita ko.  Bitter…nope.  Ka-miss lang maging bata. ;-)

…my paternal leave extended till today (tomorrow back to office).  I’m a father now of two chickas, lacking healthy sleep as well as Baby Maj these past 2 days.  Just this day we had the chance to take her to the doctor, and she was diagnosed having lactose intolerance.  Solution: switch back to her old infant formula.  Good she’s sleeping right now while I’m still awake…yun na ‘yon (that’s all folks).  Good night! :-)

P.S. Belated Happy Birthday sa tatay ko…hindi ko ata nabati nung kaarawan nya (January 3). ;-)

BEAUTIFUL

January 1, 2009

My BIG BIG BIG THANKS to the Lord our God  (as always) for a wonderful year [2008] He’d given us! One of the best year I believe: {Start of the month, my promotion was granted (gandang buena mano talaga)}, {assigned to an off-shore project (Hongkong) opening lots of firsts and exciting experiences that made me a better living creature (i guess somehow)}, {and mostly I was able to share also with my family and some friends the joy of being a child again in HK Disneyland!}, {lists of big purchases/investment includes: a brand new FD car, repaint of EG hatch (with its brand new shoes) , Samsung LCD TV, KBIII rubber shoes and many more}, { I was able to save  (hephep hooray!) a little which is an old habit that should be continued}, {my family and I were safe, healthy and still breathing free air (at least)} and lastly {the bonggacious of them all to end the year was of course  no other than Baby Maj}.   Wheew, truly amazing!

Though blemished with unwanted events and shortcomings (and some evil  hanging around),  still these negatives created the perfect reason  to start a brand new year  [2009] of hope, peace and love.  Like for example, as far as I can recall I think this was the first time it rained on a New Year’s eve and what made the occasion more horrible in our hometown, at exactly 12midnight power supply been troubled until 4AM.  Scary as the financial crunch the world’s carrying right now, this should not stop  us believing and living our lives, even it seems impossible.  If we are by God, nothing is impossible.  (sabi ko sa inyo dapat mag-pri-priest ako e)

Yes the sun sets but then it will shine brighter again thru your window in the morning.  Positivity.  Think BIGGER cause BIGGER is BETTER and BETTER is BIGGER! (but remember we can’t have it all & let’s always keep our feet on the ground).

Manigo, Masaya at Malusog na Bagong Taon po sa ating lahat!

P.S.  On a brighter note, I created  Photo Boo2x album (grouped by month) in my [multiply].  Of course this will feature  daily snaps of Baby Maj (However I failed already December 19th because of the Sunlife Christmas party, [my bad]) ’cause viewing her thru this as she progresses is LOVE (sulit na sulit pa ang camera ko). :-)

Day 4.5 - Medical City ==> Our Home

December 31, 2008

Woke up early on Dec 13th, ’cause Ate Sam is so excited to meet Boo2x Maj.  Only this day the tripod I brought has been utilized (trying to make sure to capture every moment especially a pic of us three).

..And from here baby sitting and more sleepless nights officially had began! ;-)

P.S.  Happy to have time to edit and photo dump in my [multiply].  Wish I could do this quicker…

Days 3 & 4 - Lots of Loving Guests

After a half-day rest (though Chard with a “friend” ;-) and Daddy Bing dropped by on Baby Maj’s Day),  Dambby’s obliged to stand up and to breast feed.  Just as we thought that 1 and a half day old Maj is excited for her mother, the whole time Dambby’s inside the nursery, Boo2x was sleeping.  And so that very afternoon(even we don’t want to), we requested Maj be moved to our room. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

Dec 11th, morning ’til night, we had visitors from relatives to friends, officemates to ex-officemates (? LOL).  Dec 12th, Rochelle [multiply] was able to make it  but was caught in traffic that’s why she didn’t stayed that long. The week was also Sam’s 3rd quarter exams and supposedly they would be visiting the same day, but I opted them not to travel anymore because of traffic jam as always on a friday (and besides we’ll be going home early the next day).

P.S. Thank you so much guys for your time & effort as well as for the greetings (to some who were not able to hehehe).

On Maj’s name + Last Christmas Season in HK

December 25, 2008

Last year, The Lord let me had a little taste of The Joyous Season in Hongkong: lights abundant (electricity’s much cheaper), “airconditioned” atmosphere, and Hongkies everywhere on their furry winter attires.  And that short happy happy still lingers (thanks to Sunny Company). Could have been happier ofcourse if my family’s with me that time.

Going to Happy Valley (Hongkong Island) to hear the noontime English Sunday Mass is one thing I really missed.  From the hotel, I used to take the ferry boat (instead of MTR) and then tram ride to get to St. Margaret’s Church (thank you Ms. Sech for bringing us there).  Kewl priest (sorry I don’t know his name) always gave sensible, lively sermons/stories with a tweak of humor.  IMHO, I hope all other priests should be like him…

And now probably you have in mind where Maj’s name came from.  Her first name Margaret was simply named after the church from the country where she was conceived.  Jeihl (pronounced as “Hale” not “jail”) was Ate Sam and Che’s choice to put some uniqueness.  I think they squeezed it out from Heigl of Katherine Heigl , changing H to J and g to h.  Cause I really want a nickname MJ and we had a hard time thinking for the J.  Originally our choices were Justine or Jelena (pr. He-lee-na) but the two older chickas crossed it out.  Not MJ, Maja or Marj but Maj.  Ma from Margaret and J from Jeihl = Maj (pretty inspired by the name Madge). :-)
