A little not too quick Flashbacks [December 2009 Issue]

Just as time is so flashy [Oh my God, it’s the last day of the first month of 2010 BTW], making this entry longer is not a good idea as I set a promise of completing several backlogs end of this month.  I achieved that in a way and somehow I’m coping with this never-ending chase.

Luckily I have attended all 4 traditional Christmas parties in Sunlife [but I intentionally brought my camera only on the first one].  Wuhoo it is really the time when you had the chance to forget all your worries.  Enjoy it with the alcohol!…[That’s Pokwang blowing the house down!!! Naging comedy bar pero funny talaga]

Supposedly committed to perform as lead vocalist [I dream of doing since the GNR era] of an intermission in the company-wide party, but I retreated because of time [I’m on scheduled block leave during their days of practice] and Dambby’s very kind words: “Ang kapal ng apog mong magprisinta at kumanta!” How inspirational isn’t it? ^^ Anyway, that’s my money shot of Dippin’ Dots’ bassist [using an officemate’s Canon 50D + 70-200L combo] .  Made me “IN” again to photography… [only if Santa Claus can still grant my wish, would it be forever eye-ing for an upgrade? huhuhu].

Come Happy Birthday Jesus!  My bad as I opted to sleep most of the day because of a**h*le reason I can’t recall right now.  Also a not so good decision of attending the Christmas Eve mass.  It’s Maj’s first Christmas but felt like a Lenten sacrifice: standing & carrying her almost the whole mass in a jam-packed local church.  That’s why when we got home, we were so tired to wait for the Noche Buena.

Buti na lang, the next day was set to be Bongga’s Christmas Party!  A much-awaited get together because the other bongga twin Twinkie [& family: Jose & their Eng accent girl Mia] went home for their first vacation after so many years in UK.  All night long tattle, exchange gifts, poker, Wiii, alcohol, tsi-tsa [potluck, I prepared my version of tuna tortilla as requested] and tattle again.  Dambby’s barkada [I consider mine too] a little bit complete this time.  Almost perfect blissful moment actually..forever and always! *** ♥^_^ ♥***

Take me back [to] not so too Past ^^

Time is still not so generous but I don’t envy most of you guys out there who are 24 hours dedicated enjoying the many applications facebook can offer!  As of composing this entry, you may now enjoy in multiply the Jay Cenon Tarun photo (watermarked) set of my two daughters’ birthday bash [upload ongoing in Facebook].  I just hope that I can finish all these back logs  before the end of the month.  As much as I opt not to shoot until I’m done with tons of baul pics, I really can’t because December to March will always be my moments of the year forever.  Yeah time of exuberance and happiness! [but excitingly will deplete my pocket as well].

Let me start the day after the party.  My two daughters had tons of gifts to open and appreciate!!!  Grabe! Children nowadays are too lucky to receive these kinds of stuff.  Our sincere gratitude once again.  Funny Kodak moment was when Maj loved [hugged] a white doggie stuff toy whom they named “Jacob” ^^

The week after the party was my most awaited part.  Good Lord, it’s my 5-day block leave [finally]!  8th of December was the birth date of Sam [Imakulata Konsepsiyon].  No classes on Catholic schools, so we are bound to have a rare one-day out of town trip for 2009.  Destination:  100 plus km? from Manila > Subic ♥ [Love the place: cleanliness and discipline].  First time to travel via SCTEX.  Wonderful scenery: proof that our country is nature-ally beautiful.  Convenient, definitely faster way to get there but sadly still the idea was all wrong to divide several hills along the way…

Adding to damages, the fact that there are so many toll fees to pay!  BTW, supposedly I wanted to try Zoobic Safari.  Their overnight package is quite reasonable but then the kids cannot afford to miss classes because it would be exam days the week after.  Hence for some combination of lame and valid reasons we ended taking Ocean Adventure.  Honestly speaking, it’s not that appealing  [even Sam admitted] because we already seen these wonders in Ocean Park Hongkong.  Besides the place was crowded with field tripping students, food is costly but not that tasty…anyway we enjoyed the precious quality time at least.

The next day after the day after the OT trip, officially our youngest turned 1!!!.  O kay bilis ng araw! [bat di ka pa maniwala]  We just enjoyed together pansit canton as usual and we just bought cakes for the two gagas to blow.  

As always I want to thank our Good Lord Almighty for all the blessings [whether it happened to be simple or big time].  I’ll pause for now.  Expect picture sets blasting from last busy month ago in the next few days… ^^ [I’ll just split this post maybe] ^_^

December.  It’s the time of the year when joy, fun and happiness is everywhere.  Truly this has been the highlight [and I’m thankful to have a best part at least] of our 2009 hence this blog story could be long [interesting though].  Birthday month of our Dearest Lord and so are of our two forever lovely Baby Gagas: Baby Tha [*Sam] and Baby Boo2x Coco Liit [*Maj].

Turned out to be their advance duo birthday bashes as it was held a bit earlier December 5th [Fyi Sam’s Dec 8th while Maj’s Dec 10th].  We had our preparation early as late September I’m sure, as we’re aware that Dec is too busy for all the parties and the holidays.  Initially we plan to give just a simple celebration and a plain McDo birthday package would be ok [ika nga para mairaos na lang tutal hindi pa naman ma-appreciate ng 1 year old].  But still we’ll spending either way, why not enjoy a semi-extravagant party and besides being a parent knowing it’s the first birthday of your youngest, of course I want to give her the best as long as I live [the fact that no one knows how long we will have this life] and I can afford .  Venue, that broke our head selecting that suits our several needs.  Definitely our residence is out because most of our guests were officemates living far from the province of Navotas and obviously even they would be willing to attend despite the distance, our place could not accomodate even half a hundred guests.  My nice Tita Ninang Mamita even has approved to have the party in their biggier compound but then still we are worrying that majority living from another planet will opt not to attend in the end.  Of course these constraints all boils down to budget.  So from catering in a country club [two options in Magallanes [both were to small] to Italiannis [hindi kaya ng bulsa]  to TGIF’s [maganda pero ok lang mangarap]…could have been great there also at Conti’s as they have their freshly opened Greenbelt branch but then their initial quotation deceived what we can pay for. So it came this one lucky night when I’m browsing over the net: Chili’s.  It’s already in my mind that this resto’s expensive because I have eaten here several times but most of them during despedidas of an officemate leaving Sunlife.  But then surprisingly looking [then here comes our calculator] at their cheapest buffet package and knowing if we’ll be having 120 guests, their store at Greenhills will be closed for a 3-hour party!  Isn’t it kewl?

Just like a typhoon trait, [on & offs] on deciding what would be the theme of the party.  I won’t mention anymore the list of choices we had and just to cut this short it ended to Dambby’s original first pick> Carebears : “Stare”!!! And with this for sure our official invitation design [which I proudly created thru the power of Photoshop] were revised quite numerously.  This credit-card inspired thingy BTW was the witty idea by no other than Maj’s mom [my wife].  A cute masterpiece indeed made possible by our teamwork but now I’m telling via this blog that Dambby even wanted to trash her/this bright idea and asked me what can I suggest instead.  Counter Stone Cold’s stunner! ^^

Carebears [kapanahunan daw namin though I can’t remember a single instance that I watch this cartoon during those times], but they are really cuties.  Perfect for Baby Co-co Liit.  Not the usual Disney Princesses or Mickey’s friends and all that but actually Party Boosters has the influence that made us come up in bringing back the spirit of Carebears.  Party Boosters already did this theme once and I personally consider that on top of their craft [check and find out in their multiply site]  Ms. Jacque Fermin-Tan [owner of Party Boosters] who happened to be a friend of a high-school mate [Maria Elena Toralba-Danganan]…so ayun konek konek na…Thru the blog post of Mai about her son’s first birthday, I was able to firmly decide to get Ms. Jacque [& company] to boost and celebrate Sam’s/Maj’s special moment to the partiest!!!  though a little costly than those referred by close friends,  as a sign of gratitude: CLAP CLAP CLAP HOOORAYYY PARTY BOOSTERS!!!

My bad, I forgot to take a photo with Ms. Jacque [pumunta pa naman sya at nagstay gang matapos ang party] tsk tsk tsk.  Hopefully next time [mejo tinamad din magpiktur kasi busy sa dami bisita].  Maybe because we were too overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment.  Thru my facebook I constantly reminded the invitees to leave their houses early because traffic is too terrible on all ways to the venue.  That day we were almost late and it ruined the plan a bit.  Who would imagine my travel time took almost 3 hours!  Our God forgive me for being hypertensive.  Chili’s also the first one who somehow spoiled our preparation.  Party Boosters supposedly start their balloon design of the place as early as 11 in the morning as we have agreed and requested with the resto manager but to some reasons we were unaware that there’s a baptism event that day in the morning.  And so when we arrived there, the staff of Ms. Jacque were harassed decorating as fast as they can.  Sighhh..Life’s boring anyway without this kind of thrillers.  I was thinking after the party when we’re about to pay our balance,  Sir Richard of Chilis mentioned that he doesn’t charge us anymore with the additional bottomless iced teas.   Thank you very much!!!

Intentionally in the invite we put 2pm because alam mo naman tayong mga pinoy pag dating sa oras…So ironic since we arrived at that fake time, hayun na harass tuloy dahil madami dami ang nagsidatingan ng eksaktong oras! Among them ay ang mga inimporta naming photographer [JayJay] at videographers [Christian & Pong].  So thankful to you guys: you did come on time and offered your services for free! [Kasabay pa ata itong mga ‘to sa jeepney] Thank Thank!  I think only the early birds had enjoyed & depleted the nacho chips…

  Face painter sponsored by my cousins Ninang Janice & Nonong Jaycee.  [Sorry Ms. Jacque nakuha kasi nila ng 1K less sa price mo hehe].  And because of the incidents that happened earlier and the stunning presence of those who attended,  we forgot also to have our face painted…It seems Maj’s enjoying being face painted as I enjoyed watching this scene for we all know that Maj always cry in situations with strangers…

Dambby was so loved by her HSBC buddies and it’s very evident on the party.  Goosebumps…Cheers para sa ting mga isip bata!!!.  What can I say?  I’m speechless.  I saw and felt that they enjoyed this occassion as much as we do.  You must know I had no objection the time Che put all of you as our guests [sorry sana kayo na rin lang naimbita nung binyag ni Maj].  Again our heart-felt thanks for your individual and joint-effort gifts especially the Graco high chair for Maj!!!  The best!!!

Ms. Bevs was really talented as a party host!  Mango Bravo!!!  “Magaling” “Ganda” according to my Mareng Twinkle.  And I totally agree [or talaga bang mga isip bata lang ako at karamihan ng mga bisita].  Jojo Bandana put on the most entertaining magic show I’ve ever seen on a kiddie party.  Akalain mong naitagong mabuti ung gansa sa kanyang mga mahiwagang bandana at buti’t hindi nag-ingay ang mga pato!  That amazed all of us for sure.  Now I realized and thankful that Bevs & Bandana tandem were luckily booked by Ms. Jacque on our day.  [Our original choice were Flooch / Alex Lagula as suggested by Mai] Clap Clap Clap Thank Thank!!!

 Good health and keep my family away from harm, that’s my prayer.   I wonder what was Sam’s wish before blowing her 11 candles.  Dambby helped blow Maj’s candle.  Hope our wishes will come true.  BTW Maj’s cake was willingly sponsored by a shy person.  I promised to keep this generous sponsor anonymous.  [Generous pala a…sana pala kinuha ko na yung mas mahal]

Heeeyyy… Yaaaaaaa…

    I hope to make this blog really short and quick.  Time revolves so fast and with just a wink you will realize you’re a year older.  Shake it to the nth time just like a Polaroid picture…fortunately and fervently [last weekend] I was able to developed digitally, half-a-year old pictures [though they are quite few] and upload them immediately.

    And now what only makes me [us] really excited is next Saturday would be Baby Maj’s 1st Birthday party!!! [and my 5-day block vacation leave will start on the 7th]  So what would make me believe that planet earth turns slowly ???[Fireflies? maybe if I see one face to face in the wild] …

    Sunlife Basketball “Higher” Tournament is over.  Next year I won’t join anymore if they will rent the same court and besides I’m getting weaker.  And speaking of basketball, my kababata team mate has finally decided to marry.  Double congrats for this year! =P Tigil mo na pagiging chickboy mo hehe

So many frustrations this year:  I’m getting bored, tired and pissed with work [I don’t like this feeling, this certainly makes me uglier].  It’s time to shift career? [Problem is I can’t think of any that would make me earn more]…stuck!!! =(

OT: We missed Hongkong so much…We want to go back for the birthdays of Sam and Maj but I don’t have the money to make tat happen this year.  Hayyzzz so sorry…

 …though I’m still thankful!!!

Euphoric feeling!  I regret that we spent only half-day on my first time in Disney (Hongkong).  I don’t believe those who were saying that Ocean Park is better than Disneyland…I think you can’t compare…but well of course kanya kanya yan…maybe mababaw lang talaga ang kaligayahan ko…

Finally got time to revisit my cybersites! [clap clap clap]  After a month and a half of no weekends because of work overload, it’s time to make bawi with my family  soon.  But I wish I could have the money right now.  Hopefully next year we can go back to Disneyland but this time in Tokyo! [think positive]

Quicky Update

Hello God’s people!!!   Ang hirap kumita ng pera!  Lately, I’d been stuck in office tasks which demands me to be in an always-in-a-rush mode.  Should be thankful anyway…I have a job.

No activities for almost a month.  Got sick.  My belly’s getting thicker.  Sweet Jesus, I was able to jog for 30 minutes this morning with my wife’s brother.  Yes, little Vim2x is living with us now and is a brand new schoolmate of Sam.  Litte Bajingjing can now drink milk one-level lower than her previous pocket busting milk.
